I caught up to the UP 9498 near Cruz, UT and bagged this shot at Bloom. This area begins a stretch of very straight and flat track along what is left of Clear Lake, UT., and along the farming lands of central Utah. There might only be one or two curves for the next 30 rail miles, and the road follows within a hundred feet or so most of that length. This is a spectacular pacing location.
