Cape Fear Railroaders/Cape Fear Chapter #164, of the National Railway Historical Society and 100% National Model Railroad Association club.  We are the local Railfan and Model Railroading club in Fayetteville, NC.  We are incorporated as a non-profit Historical and Educational organization, dedicated to keeping the history of railroads alive.

OBJECTIVES

  •   to expand interest in publicize the history of rail transportation.
  •   to preserve the historical materials concerning railway transportation of all kinds.
  •   to collect data on the history of transportation and issue publications relating to the subject, along with current rail transportation topics.
  •   to inform and educate the general public of the value of railroads and rail transportation.
  •   to promote, sponsor and/or conduct restoration of railroad equipment and historical museum exhibits.
  •   to promote greater fellowship between those persons interested in rail history, current rail issues, active to railroading and model railroading.
  •   to promote railroad history though the practice of model railroading.
  • to instruct, aid and assist model railroaders in the fulfillment of their enjoyment of model railroading as a hobby.

                       
         
The Cape Fear Railroaders/Cape Fear Chapter #164, of the National Railway Historical Society Inc. and membership in the National Model Railroad Association sponsors and operates the Railroad Historical Center.  We are always looking for people, like you, who enjoy railroading. Members enjoy railroad history, historical preservation, railfaning (watching trains), slide and video presentations, and discussion of rail-related topics.  Past activities have included running a model railroad show and sale, trips to other rail museums and shows, and operating a model railroad displays at the mall and country fair.  Future activities planned are the future development of the Historical Center, getting and restoring a Caboose, Railfan trips, and to take model layouts to shows around the area.

Cape Fear Raildoaders is incorporated as a not-for-profit organization in the State of North Carolina
we are currently working on our taxfree donations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
