Modeling Information and Examples

About This Site

Mission

This site was created to help myself and others that are interested in the Canadian Pacific Railway and making scale models that are representative of the prototype.

Philosophy

I have been a model railroader for most of my life. I believe that model railroading is one of the most rewarding hobbies that a person can pursue. Each of my modeling efforts has been better than the last and I know I have a long way to go. I am constantly trying to improve my skills as a modeler and a researcher. Many of my closest friendships in life have been the result of my involvement in the hobby and I hope to continue to make new and interesting friends.

About me

I am 36 years old and I live in Argyle, New Brunswick with my large family. We have 5 children ranging in age from 2 to 17. I work in the IT field and find that model railroading is something that helps me relax and allows me a creative outlet. The whole family appreciates the hobby and is very supportive of my involvement.

My Interests

The layout I am planning will be set in the late 1960s. This allows a variety of equipment to be run with several different schemes ranging from the block lettering scheme to the CPRail scheme. I am a fan of all of CPs paint schemes (except for that dreaded dual flags) so anything from early block to golden beaver will be run. While I won't restrict myself when it comes to running trains for show or fun, when the layout is in true operations mode it will be run with era specific equipment only. I have only a slight interest in steam and own a few steam locos. This also will be reserved for showing off the layout for visitors and for just plain fun.
