Fairbanks-Morse H-10-44
(10L60, 4/48)
  • Acquired new for use on Vail line, lettered "Weyerhaeuser Timber Company".
  • Upgraded to 1200 hp at Vail shop.
  • Remained in regular service until December 1972, then stored at Vail shop, stripped of parts.
  • Sold for scrap April 1977 to the Purdy Co., Chehalis, WA.

  • Acquired new for use on old CW, lettered "Chehalis Western".
  • Equipped for multiple-unit operation, but never operated in multiple.
  • Upgraded to 1200 hp at Camp McDonald shop.
  • Placed in standby at Vail after delivery of C-415 684, but soon returned to service and 493 went into standby at Vail.
  • Operated by Chehalis Western until end of (original) CW operations in late 1975.
  • Stored at Vail, occasionally used (as of mid 1977) in work train service, still lettered Chehalis Western.
  • Sold to Pacific Transportation Services (Tacoma, WA), re# 122.
  • Leased to Continental Grain (Tacoma, WA) c.1981-82.
  • Scrapped in Tacoma E5/87.

  • Acquired new for use on old CW, lettered "Chehalis Western".
  • Equipped for multiple-unit operation, but never operated in multiple.
  • Upgraded to 1200 hp at Camp McDonald shop.
  • Retired after arrival of C-415 684.
  • Stored at Vail shop, stripped of parts.
  • Scrapped (at Vail?) August 1974.
  • Was involved in a grade crossing accident with a log truck in the mid 1950's, received nose damage, and was rebuilt with a shorter nose door, lower headlight, and simplified nose sheetmetal.

  • Acquired new for use on old CW, lettered "Chehalis Western".
  • Transferred to CM&E 12/75, relettered "C.M. and E.R.R.".
  • Transferred to new CW in 1990, relettered "CWWR".
  • Sold to City of Tacoma in 1995.
  • Presently located at former Chehalis Western shop at Western Junction. Shop and 684 leased to American Orient Express (previously leased to Coast Engine & Equipment Co.).

  • Acquired new for use on White River Branch (Enumclaw, WA), lettered "Weyerhaeuser Timber Company".
  • Transferred to the Vail line in L/75, re# 714, lettered with just tree logo on cab side.
  • Only used on Vail line for several months, developed truck problems.
  • Stored at Vail as of mid 1977.
  • Sold to Pacific Transportation Services (Tacoma, WA), re# 121.
  • Leased to Continental Grain (Tacoma, WA) c.1981-82.
  • Leased to Puget Sound Hist. Assoc. (Snoqualmie, WA) in 1982, then sold to PSHA in 1987.
  • Restored to original appearance as White River Branch #1.

  • Transferred to new CW in 1981 or 1982, relettered "Chehalis Western".
  • Transferred to Columbia & Cowlitz (Longview, WA) in 1989, re# 701 (2nd).
  • Renumbered Columbia & Cowlitz 702 (2nd) in 1998, still in service.
