The MARC station at College Park, MD, offers a good view of the CSX mainline in either direction. MARC trains pass through at least once an hour during the morning and evening rush hours, with one additional train stopping at approximately 11 AM. In addition to the commuter traffic, about twenty CSX freights pass through here every day, moving all sorts of rolling stock, including unit coal, tank cars, autoracks, and general mixed merchandise.

When photographing, please keep in mind that this station is a "flag stop," meaning that MARC trains will stop only if they see passengers waiting on the platform. If no other passengers are waiting, try to keep away from the platform so the trains do not stop unnecessarily.

This station is easily accessible by car, Metro or University of Maryland bus, or the MetroRail Green Line.
