Minnesota Heartland RailroadTHE Prairie Products LINE
The MHRR traces its roots to the decision by the Great Northern Railroad to terminate its Lake Wobegone branch at Lake Wobegone, Minnesota. The need for rail service beyond GN tracks led Lake Wobegone businessmen to form the MHRR. The MHRR now is a full service shortline serving the transportation needs of Central Minnesota commerce via our direct connections with the Great Northern, Northern Pacific, and the Soo Line.
Our strategic connections with these Class 1 roads also allows us to serve their operations needs by providing bridge line service and locomotive leasing for protection and short-term service. Watch for MHRR power on our home rails, on our connecting Class 1's, and wherever lease power is needed.
The MHRR Eastern Division is modeled by Ted Larson, mhrreast AT yahoo.com
The MHRR Western Division is modeled by Ken Zieska.
