FOR INTERESTED MODEL RAILROADERS IN THE AREA, WE ARE FORMING A NEW MODULAR CLUB
The members have decided to create a new modular club called the Royersford Modular Model Railroaders. The club meeting site will be in Royersford, but members will build and maintain their own modules at either the members home or the club space. There will be a monthly operations night and club nights when members will meet to work on the layout will be on Tuesdays AND Thursdays and might even include some weekends, to make it more flexible for members' schedules. If you are in the Philadelphia area, they are looking for new members of all skill levels who are interested in creating a modular HO scale layout for public shows and personal operations using both club-owned and member-owned modules. For more information, email them at RMMR@RRMAIL.COM

As for the Oaks site, it will be maintained for the time being, with its future to be decided at a later date.

A video of the dismantling of our old layout, compressing 17+ hours into a minute 15 seconds, can be found in the Layout Movie Archive.

Trains.com has an article "Dreams of railroading empire turn to dust" on their website about the birth and death of the Oaks Model Railroad layout.

Time Magazine has an article titled "Hobbyist or Terrorist" about railfanning in the current political climate. See it here.

The videos of the Conrail SAA Retirement Special and the Northern Express featuring the restored PRR E8's have been moved to the PRR-Barf Yahoogroup.
PRR-Barf Video folder

The videos featuring the restored Reading FP7A's of Philadelphia and Lancaster Chapter of the NRHS in excursion service have been moved to the PhillyNRHS Yahoogroup.

A list of videos that have been retired from the site is available from a link on the Movie Archive page.

We will be building our own personal modules at home and meeting at least once a month to work on the club modules. Soon we will be looking at a place for meetings and club projects.

When in Lansdale, come visit two of the best hobby shops around (we don't get any compensation for this plug, we just like them).
