UP 3421

The trainman of UP 3421 East boards the train after making sure that the engine would clear the last car of the westbound. The siding at Minnow, Oregon is 5330 feet long and the dispatcher made a mistake in trying to meet the two trains there. After getting permission to pass the red signal and manually operate the turnout, the engineer of 3421 squeezed by the chip car with about six inches of clearance.
