AFT Locomotive #4449, one of the most photographed locomotives in the world, the former Southern Pacific GS-4 is the property of the City of Portland Oregon. It was repainted to Daylight colors a few years after the Bicentennial. In the 1980s it pulled a consist of matching cars from Portland to New Orleans for the World's Fair and starred, along with Burt Lancaster and Kirk Douglas, in Disney's "Tough Guys". In recent years she has sported an all-black paint scheme, and most recently headed an ERS excusion on the BNSF in 2001. Today she is back in sparkling red, white and blue. |

AFT Locomotive #610 / former Texas & Pacific 2-10-4 "Texas type" ran in excursion service for the Southern Railway for five years following duty on the AFT. Today this engine is owned and housed at the Texas State Railroad State Historical Park in Palastine, Texas. |

MoPac Bicentennial GP7 #1776 - was built in April 1950 as C&EI High Hood GP7 #212. It was later renumbered to C&EI #77. The unit was rebuilt with a new 2500 gallon fuel tank, and had the nose chopped and emerged as C&EI #84. It later became the MP Bicentennial #1776. Missouri Pacific #1976 - a GP18u 1976 (which, along with GP7u #1776 - see above) was MoPac's offering to commemorate the American 1976 Bicentennial. MoPac had the unique advantage of being able to incorporate its famous screaming eagle paint scheme very successfully into a Bicentennial scheme.
