Ohio & Indiana Locomotive Roster

Today's OHIR roster of locomotives has been modernized with new additions in the past several years. OHIR began in 1976 with a fleet of ex-Erie Lackawanna GP35's, GP9's, and SW8's. Over the years the GP9's and GP35's were rebuilt while OHIR began to acquired second-generation locomotives such as GP38-2's, SD40-2's, and MP15DC's to assist in moving the growing tonnage. With the arrival of the rebuilt GP40-3's and "new" SD70M's in 1999, OHIR ushered in the era of "modern" motive power. Recently, three F9's were purchased for the executive fleet and are used for business and inspection trains.
