CFMG (Chemin de fer de la Matapedia et du golfe) operates the Mont-Joli subdivision between Rivière-du-Loup, Qc and Campbellton, N.B., for a distance of 188 miles; the Matane subdivision between Mont-Joli and Matane, Qc, for 32 miles; the Cascapedia subdivision between Matapedia and New-Carlisle, Qc, 98 miles; and the Chandler subdivision between New-Carlisle and Gaspe, Qc, for 104 miles.

|
QNS&L (Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway) is hauling iron ore from Labrador City 260 miles South on both the Northernland and Wacouna subdivisions. The rails are also stretching to Schefferville (357 North from Sept-Iles) for passenger and local freight service.

The Cartier Railway is also involved in the business of hauling iron ore. The 260 miles of rail are connecting Mont-Wright to Port-Cartier Qc.

Wabush Mines is operating over the Arnaud Railway linking at MP 7 off the QNS&L to Pointe-Noire on the other side of the bay of Sept-Iles. The Wabush Lake Railway is also involved in the iron ore business from their own mining site and concentrate mills in Newfoundland to the pellet plant in Pointe-Noire.

Romaine River Railway property of Quebec Iron and Titanium, is transporting crude titanium from their mining site to the ship loading docks in Havre-St-Pierre Qc. The company is also providing passenger shuttle service for their mine working employees.

Tshiuetin Rail Transport as taken over the QNS&L passenger and freight operations between Emeril Yard (MP 225) and Schefferville (MP 356). The company is owned by the Naskapi Nation of Kakawachikamach, the Innu Nation of Matimekush-Lac John and the Innu Nation Takuaikan Uashat mak Mani-Utenam.
