Trolley Postcards: Midwest

Landsdown, East. St. Louis.

Mailed 29 October, 1900, to a Miss Krieg, with the en

North Shore Line Electroliner (foreground) and Silverliner (behind platform) at the Milwaukee Terminal.

To the best of my knowledge the Electroliner is the only piece of traction equipment in any of these postcards which still exists. Of the two constructed, one can still be seen in its original livery at the Illinois Railway Museum.

Elevated line on the Lake Street rotating Bridge, Chicago.

This appears to be a promotional postcard for the Illinois Traction's sleeper service. The IT was probably the only interurban-type railway to offer this service.
