Hamp Gate Stock at GG.jpg (66596 bytes)

Driving Motor (DM) car of Hampstead gate stock, coupled to a trailer, showing the location of the main line and train line hoses.  On the train front is a small plate with the letter A, indicating that this is an "A" end car.  The 10 is the train running number indicating the timetable path.  Train running numbers are still used today and can be seen at each end of every train.  Unlike the Central London, all driving positions on the LER were on the left hand side.
