FIRE (Functionality Integrated Railroad Electronics) is the most advanced system designed for locomotive management. It improves safety, enhances crew operations and improves the engineer's management of locomotive performance.

The FIRE electronics add one electronic screen for access to various engine control functions and for various additional displays, such as speedometer. Analog gauges remain for the airbrakes since the units do not have electronic air.
