University Plaza Hotel, 400 NE 45th St.

Hotel is just west of I-5 Exit 169, about 4 miles north of downtown.

 

A tour of the Talgo assembly plant will be available in the morning.

Mr. Ellis will discuss the Amtrak mail and express initiative that's designed to put the long distance trains on a more sound financial footing and how this relates to restoration of train service from the Northwest to Chicago via eastern Oregon and southern Idaho.

 

Mr. Morrison will discuss Washington's fine rail passenger program and partnership with Amtrak. He will also provide us with the latest information on the transportation funding proposals before the Legislature.

 

Talgo plant tour: The tour will be at the Pacifica Marine facility, 4735 East Marginal Way South (SR 99) at 10 a.m. The cross street is South Hudson St. There is limited parking at the plant on the west side of the street. Additional parking is available on the east side of East Marginal off of Hudson. There is a traffic signal at this intersection. The Talgo plant is about 2 miles south of the West Seattle Hwy. and 1½ miles north of the Duwamish River drawbridge.

 

Meeting time: Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. Lunch at 12:30 p.m. The meeting will conclude by 5:00 p.m.

 

Meal selection: There is a choice of four entrees:

A no-host bar will be available.

The registration fee includes the meal, room rental and other meeting expenses.
