D&H-Delaware & Hudson

(click the link for history and photos of each car)

Delaware and Hudson leased Skyline domes 500 and 507 from Canadian Pacific for service on Amtrak trains 68/69, The Adirondack, between Albany-Rensselaer and Montreal.

CP 500 became D&H 35 WILLSBORO POINT.

CP 507 became D&H 36 BLUFF POINT.

The two cars entered revenue service with the inauguration of the Adirondack in August 1974. In addition to being the food and beverage service car, their domes provided a wonderful view of The Adirondack Mountains, Lake Champlain and the more distant Green Mountains mountains of Vermont.

In September 1975, when Amtrak assigned their own dome coaches (9561 and 9662) to the train's consist, the 2 Skyline dome cars were returned to CP. Food and beverage service was now provided in freshly overhauled diner lounge cars D&H 41 SARATOGA INN and D&H 42 ADIRONDACK LODGE.
