City of Los Angeles, 16th Train, 1950
Club-Lounge - "Loup River"
American Car and Foundry received an order for 9 Club-Lounge cars from UP in 1946. They were delivered
in 1949 and given names in the "River" group
as well as numbers 6200-6208.
Union Pacific has retained one car, the lounge car 6203,
"Sun Valley".
When the "River" class cars lost their names in the late 50's, "Columbia River" became 6203, a number it
has kept to this date, even if the name changed.
COLA 16
The car in the COLA 16th train was the "Loup River" number 6200.
