Thane-Turbhe-Vashi Corridor

The Thane-Vashi EMU service was flagged off by Shri. Laloo Prasad Yadav (Hon. Railway Minister) on the 19th of November 2004. Initially the route had 12 services per day and was later increased to 22 (in December 2005) and now has been increased to 34 (w.e.f. October 05, 2006) and then to 42 w.e.f. December 01, 2006. Now, the number of services has further increased to 54 (w.e.f. March 15, 2007)

Initially one 9-car rake (Sanpada Carshed) was used for this service. In October 2006 - One more rake (#353-#355) has been pressed into service thus increasing the number of services by 12. The running time of this route was initially 40 minutes and has now come down to 28 minutes with an average speed of 40.71 kmph. First and Second class accomodation is available in this train. The end-to-end fare on this train is Rs. 10 (Second Class) and Rs. 83.

News: Number of services in this section has been increased to 54 (6 Additional pairs of services) w.e.f. March 15, 2007. One more new rake (#359-#361) has been introduced.

The fare given above is inclusive of all surcharges viz., CIDCO Surcharge (Rs. 3 for Second and Rs. 5 for First), Safety Surcharge (Rs. 1 for Second and Rs. 20 for First) and MUTP Surcharge (Rs. 1 for Second and Rs. 2 for First; Not Applicable for less than 10 kms)
