UP 4031

UP 4031 idles peacefully at the crew change in Milford, UT. There is NEVER a lack of something to see here. Milford serves as the division point between the Caliente and Lyndyll Subs.

Slideshow Narration

I got lost for a bit trying to get through the farm fields that surround Milford, but finally made my way to the station here. The dirt road I had followed for so long was deteriorating around Latimer, so I decided to take a turnoff there. It lead to a paved road, which veered away from Milford. I knew where I was going then (toward Minersville) but that was going to be a 20 miles out of the way detour so I tried one of the farms roads. Yikes that was almost as bad.

Anyhow, I finally made it and set out from Milford for SLC. The rest of the way would be on good ole fashioned paved roads, though I would not see the interstate again until I got to Provo. Milford is a nice, quaint little town, the railroad is obviously a major player here. I would see only one more train at the next siding north of here. (RR east)
