UP 4882

The wye at Lund, UT is located amongst the trees on the right. This is where the UP's Cedar City sub begins. UP 4882 is seen with a stack train westbound.

Slideshow Narration

I met several trains as I followed the tracks from Modena to Milford. Many were lined up eastbound waiting for crews to take the trains on. I even passed a few of the contracted Armadillo crew buses along the dirt roads out here as they shuttled men back and forth. As you can see the tracks pass through a broad flat valley which extends northward for nearly 100 miles. The UP passes through this valley obviously taking advantage of the ease of the route. Milford, UT is near the point of the mountain at the left of the train.
