The purpose of this web site is to spread the word to save our national railroad passenger system and train service in The United States via the world wide web.By law there is only one company given the task to establish support and maintain our interstate rail passenger system.That company is know and advertised as AMTRAK. AMTRAK is a brand name of the NATIONAL RAILROAD PASSENGER CORPORATION. Amtrak has been in business for over 30 years established by an act of congress.Over this 30 year period there have been times when the president or congress of The United States of America wanted to either shut Amtrak down or reduce it's funding to such a low level it would not be viable.1979,1981-1982,1995-1996 these were not good years for the company, customers,rail advocates, and employees.Trains were lost and once they are gone there are gone forever. Today were at point if we lose any more intercity trains we will no longer have a national system.Amtrak is again hurting for money. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Qestion? How may I help to save Amtrak? Answer. By being a customer and or by contacting your elected government officials by e-mail, snail mail or phone. Question What do I say? Answer. Tell them -You and your family support keeping a strong viable national intercity rail system in the United States.You Support full funding for Amtrak to keep the national system intact and operating nothing less will do.You want Amtrak to stay in business and be give more to to operate with. Make sure you include your home address and name in the e-mail or letter. Again we are entering a very critical time Amtrak is cutting on board services that's not a good thing.The customers,rail advocates citizens and the employees must again come forward to save Amtrak.Your support is needed we are counting on you to send an e-mail now to save our national rail system. |
