The last pair of SD70MAC's
released, 4138 and 4139, were originally called for a PINF-2X train on
Saturday night but never left Pittsburgh. Likewise, 4132 and 4133

DINOSAURS RETURN FROM EXTINCTION
Sightings of the rare breed SD45-2 have been coming in from all over! The SD45-2 fleet, with the exception of the 6656 and 6660 which were sold to Andy Muller of Reading & Northern fame, had been leased to Canadian National. As reported a few weeks ago, Norfolk Southern and CSX have recalled all Conrail power that is currently leased. As of yesterday, only four SD45-2's were still reported on CN. The remainder of the fleet has been operating in regular road service. After their return from CN, the units are being cycled through Juniata to add ditch lights. These units are not reportedly going to hold down any "regular" assignment and will be in "System Service". -Kevin Burkholder, (sightings by J. Alex Lang and Willie Brown)
