Touring the Depot
For the ease of our guest the displays in the Museum are grouped into the different “rooms” of the old Depot.


“White” Waiting Room

Inside what was once referred to as the “White”

Waiting Room you will now find
our main collection of railroad
memorabilia, a tribute to the
armed services and a collection of
works by local authors



Station Master Work Room

Inside the Stations Master Work Room you will find our collections highlighting the history of this Depot as well as exhibits and
pictorial displays of Fordsville
history and the many Civic
Organizations that have played
such an important role in our
community.


“Black” Waiting Room

Inside what was once referred to ask the “Black” Waiting Room you can stroll
through the history of the public
education, community fairs and
festivals of our City as well as
learn more about the city
government and local businesses.


Baggage Room & Loading Docks

Walking into the old Depot Baggage Room visitors are encouraged to just top
and look around. Filled with
displays of furniture, tools and
daily necessities from times past.
This area also serves as a meeting
space for the Historical Society
and other community groups.

The Fordsville L&N Depot Community Museum is filled with treasures from the past and present. Walking into the museum the visitor is almost transformed into an eager traveler awaiting the next train. While you wait for the distant conductors whistle enjoy your time reminiscing through the history
that makes our community so special.
Filled with memorabilia of both the L&N
and IC Railways and other unique
collections of rural lifestyle necessities the
Depot Museum offers something for everyone.
