With the restructure of the Voice Sales Specialist team last year a dedicated Centrex specialist was no longer required. I chose at this time to seek a role which would allow me to broaden my skill set. I was offered and accepted a role as Senior Communications Integrator and was aligned with Nichole Phelan and Don Glass. More recently I also support Ed Du Plessis. The Accounts we work with are: |

Some projects I have been involved in over the past year. Mercury Energy move This project required the move of a live call centre with little or no downtime and the shift of the customers billing systems. The Call Centre and phone service was provided on a Meridian Option 61 with Symposium. To facilitate the move we installed a temporary ATM service between the 2 sites so that computer systems and people could be moved independently. An Option 11 was installed at the old site while the Option 61 was decommissioned and moved to the new site. Royal & SunAlliance R&SA moved into a new building in Shortland St. We provided SDH fibre access to this build from 2 entry points. A temporary fibre connection was provided between this new site and the old computer centre in O'Connell st while systems were migrated. A new Lanlink network was rolled out at the same time. While Don was on leave earlier this year we responded to an RFP for Telecommunications services which had $3M existing revenue at risk. Guardian Trust Guardian trust was taken over by R&SA mid last year. As part of R&SA's requirement we had to ensure GT was going to be Y2K compliant. This involved the roll out of Global Office to all branches and the installation of a Meridian PABX at the Head Office. An old X25 data network was changed out for a new Lanlink Frame Relay network. We are currently moving GT into the new RSA Centre SKY Television. Sky are beginning to roll out new services such as 'Pay for View' on their Digital decoders. This requires the decoder to call into Sky once a month for billing purposes. With 130,000 units in the field this requires 7000 calls per night. Sky chose to use X25 dial up as this is the standard used around the world. Telecom Networks wish to phase out Pacnet and we are working with Sky to move them to an Ipnet solution. The Growth of Digital decoders is expected to reach 500,000 within the next 2 years and real time requirements such as Email will be offered soon. With this in mind we are investigating using Xtra's Pop server to host this service. AFFCO We have been chosen as Prime Vendor for a cabling and Lan equipment project at 8 of AFFCO's meat processing plants. These plants are several kilometres long and require a high bandwidth infrastructure to make way for upcoming automation and multimedia projects. Other activities, I have also been involved in opportunity and account planning. TAS plan challenge and Swot analysis to identify tactics. |
