Hunterfield

Hunterfield is the 'down' end of the system, and its main functions are as a destination point for major passenger and mail trains. It is also the industrial centre of the layout. The main feature of this industrial landscape is a major coal mine. This mine supplies the whole railway with coal, which is the main industry in the system.

Industries include:

• Coal
• General Freight
• Livestock, Milk.
• Petroleum
• Minerals

Goods are unloaded at the general freight shed for transfer to trucks.

Hunterfield is the primary industrial station, with the coal mine, dairy and petroleum facilities all taking heavy freight traffic.
