This map is supplied to LALS engineers to show the locations of the routes and some services. The map is severally compressed, especially in the length of the line at the west end. The entire line is signaled with automatic signals. Most mainline turnouts can be controlled by the engineer with a switch mounted on a post near the track.
Every four months, the general direction of operation is reversed to equalize wear on the rolling stock wheels, especially those make of aluminum. On some club run days, bi-directional operation is performed to make thing interesting and to keep everybody sharp.
