- Cassell's 1899:
Lehinch, village, parish of Kilmanaheen
(q.v.), West county Clare, Ireland, 2 miles west of Ennistimon ; it
is a pretty and rising watering-place. The church is modern, and
there is also a Roman Catholic chapel. Lehinch is the headquarters
for tourists to "The Hag's Head" and the Cliffs of Moher, to which
a regular car service runs daily. Lehinch has good hotel
accommodation, and is much resorted to for its excellent
sea-bathing and its long, firm, even sands. Here are celebrated
golf-links. There is good salmon-, trout-, and sea-fishing.
Population: 257.
