Carrigrohane, parish on the Lee, Cork
and East Muskerry baronies, Mid county Cork, Ireland, 5 miles W of
Cork ; acreage 2,658 ; soil fertile, mostly under pasturage,
overlying limestone. The river is here spanned by a stone bridge.
Gunpowder is manufactured. Two ancient castles are now in
ruins.
Population: 1,897.
