[..or, "How I Spent my Christmas Vacation."]
The finest gift I got this Christmas was TIME... time to complete a number of small tasks that enabled me to connect the subassemblies (span and legs) together, so that my structure finally begins to resemble an actual ore bridge. This is a MAJOR turning point for this project - all that is left for me to do is the detailing (walkways, stairs, handrails, etc.) and the tram/bucket.
I had originally set a goal for myself to have the legs and truck shoes joined by the end of the calendar year, and I succeeded by a micro-thin margin. So in order to save time and get this posted to my web site before 11:59pm on December 31, I will skip the usual long-winded commentary that accompanies the images.
