Kharad

[TrainWeb Editor's Note: It appears the author of this website gave up before adding much content to this home web page. However, if you click each of the two below links, you will find a few railroad related photographs, images, and information. Kharad appears to be a city in India and this website contains photos and information about trains that serve Kharad. At first, I thought Kharad, India, was the same as Karad, India, but they are actually many miles apart in India.]

[TrainWeb Editor's Note: Kharad is a city in India known for their carpet weaving. The Kharad adorned many palaces in Sindh and Gujarat. The Kings and the ministers were regular patrons of Kharad given their very distinctive look, strength and longevity of Kharad. A kharad can easily last up to 100 years. As a side note, I've always been a huge fan of Indian cuisine. Most people are only familiar with Northern Indian Cuisine. A few might be familiar with Southern Indian Cuisine which tends to be vegetarian. But there are dozens of other Indian Cuisines that most Americans are not familiar with. One is Gujarat Indian Cuisine which is my favorite. It is very hard to find in the U.S.A., but Kharad is located in the Gujarat region of India. There is little information about Kharad India on the web other than it being known for weaving. See: https://www.khamir.org/crafts/kharad-weaving.]

WCAM3

[TrainWeb Editor's Note: The Indian locomotive class WCAM-3 is a class of dual-power AC/DC series electric locomotives That was developed in 1997 by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited used in the Indian Railways system. They are the third locomotives from the WCAM class. The model name stands for broad gauge (W), DC Current (C), AC Current (A), Mixed traffic (M) locomotive, 3rd generation (3). They entered service in 1997. A total of 53 WCAM-3 were built at BHEL between 1997 and 1998, which made them the most numerous class of mainline dual-power AC-DC electric locomotive. They were specifically designed for use by Central Railways in the Ghat section towards Nashik and Pune. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_locomotive_class_WCAM-3]
