Take note of the Streamline Vista-Dome car on the monument behind the railway. The monument reads:
"It was in Glenwood Canyon, Colorado that General Motors Vice-President C.R. Osborn had the idea of the vista dome car. He was riding in the cab of a Rio Grande locomotive and realized how much the passengers would enjoy the unobstructed view. In 1950 Rio Grande and General Motors erected this monument near the spot Osborn had the idea. Built by a railroad bridge crew with native stone over concrete reinforced with steel rail, it weighs 29 tons. The monument was moved to the [CRRM] museum in 1985 when the new highway was being built in the canyon." The car is built from the same stainless steel as the original vista domes and was built to 3/4" scale, just slightly larger than the 1/2" scale of the garden railway.
