The Genesis Page
-The Genesis are comprised of three locomotive types: P40, P32AC-DM, and P42. The P40s were the first to arrive and are the 800 numbered series. The "bigger brother" of the P40 is the P42, which are numbered from 1 to 207. P42's 101 -111 were delivered in the Northeast Direct (Phase IV) paint scheme. The P32AC-DM (P32 for short) are Dual-Mode; operate on diesel and third-rail electric power. The first 10 P32s arrived as numbers 700 - 709 in Phase III paint, and arround April of '98 came the the second batch of P32s. These were numbers 710-718, delivered in the Phase IV, Northeast Direct paint. The P32's were the replacement for the FL9 and are used on trains out of Albany-Rensselaer.
