The Wisconsin & Southern's daily Chicago-Janesville train made a rare daylight departure from Chicago's Galewood Yard, where it had been laid up overnight. After moving a bad-order car in the yard, the train began its journey north on the CP's C&M Subdivision shortly after noon.
