About Us

MKMR is primarily an HO modular club that offers a variety of activities for all railfans in the area. We have a modular HO layout set up in the McPherson Museums old Cedars facility along with an N-scale layout from our friends at KCMR.

The Model Train Exhibit is open for the public every Saturday and Sunday from 1 - 5pm. There is a small admission fee and all proceeds go to the McPherson Museum.

We also entertain our guests with train videos, a train cam, old photos and railroad artifacts from McPherson's railroad history, a Thomas layout for children to play with and more.

MKMR members volunteer their time and resources every weekend to give McPherson residents and visitors a model train experience they will enjoy.

The club is working with the McPherson museum, exclusively, to restore  the Belli Bros. HO and N scale layouts, one of the largest model railroad displays in Kansas.       Another ongoing project is discovering and researching McPherson's railroad history. MKMR meets weekly and has clinics and workshops with club modeling projects as well as museum projects.

We also offer a rail video library and a rail reference library for members to enjoy and we welcome you to come in and join the fun.
