Southern California Regional Rail Authority, SCRRA, a five-county Joint Powers Authority, more commonly known as Metrolink, provides commuter rail service to a region choking on too many automobiles on an aging freeway infrastructure. Metrolink got a real kick from the 1994 Northridge earthquake and is since an evergrowing system that operates 126 weekday trains plying 416 miles on six routes with 46 stations. Metrolink's fleet consists of F59PH and F59PHI locomotives from EMD and trilevel passenger cars from Bombardier. To view
