Clinic 3 - Den Lippert - The Basics of Diesel Detailing - An overview
of "what details commonly need to be added, and why", "case studies" of
particular
locomotives, and the mechanical aspects of applying them to models.
The presentation is designed to show the beginner what sorts of tools and
parts are available to make diesel detailing easier for them, and to hopefully
encourage them to try it themselves. For the more advanced modeler,
there is an opportunity to perhaps learn some new techniques, and to see
some nice models on the screen!

overview.
Clinic 12 - Mike Tylick - Quick Interior Details for Buildings - There
is a middle ground between painting the pounds of type metal required for
the interiors in contest models and painting the windows black to hide
an empty space. Mike has long used simple drawings on card stock,
wood and found objects to quickly and simply provide the illusion of a
detailed interior. The simplicity of digital photography has also
caused him to experiment with photographic interiors. This Power
Point presentation will show how the interiors created for several recent
projects were created.
3 p.m.
Clinic 13 - George Barrett - Modeling trucks 1930-1960 - with an emphasis
and truck bodies and trailers.
Clinic 14 - Ralph Barger - The 120 Heavyweight (Standard) Sleepers
of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad - Many cars were common to other railroads,
so this clinic has a wide appeal.
4:30 p.m.
Clinic 15 - Ted Culotta - Steam Locomotives for Dummies - Most people
have not had the opportunity to see steam operations on their favorite
roads and do not have an intimate understanding of the workings of steam
power. Ted's circa October 1947 New Haven layout will require lots
of steam and he knew he would have to educate himself in order to reproduce
some of it. Ted will present the basics of steam locomotives and
then show how he modified a Bachmann Spectrum Light
USRA 4-8-2 to recreate New Haven Class R-1b Mountain no. 3330 as it
appeared circa 1947.
Slide Show 3 - Tom Nanos - Contemporary Connecticut Horsepower - A
brief digital multimedia tour of the railroading in our own back yard.
Photos are from 2002 to the present, and are derived from prints, slides
and digital photos, presented against an instrumental music backdrop.
