[TrainWeb Editor's Note: As mentioned below, this group has formed a new modular club called the Royersford Modular Model Railroaders found at www.royersfordmodular.org. But, before you click away to expore their new website, take some time to explore the photos and information at this website. There may be a lot that is of archival value posted here that might not be available at the new website, especially the HUGE GALLERY of photos you will find HERE and movies HERE!]

FOR INTERESTED MODEL RAILROADERS IN THE AREA,
WE HAVE FORMED A NEW MODULAR CLUB

The members have decided to create a new modular club called the Royersford Modular Model Railroaders. The club meeting site will be in Royersford, but members will build and maintain their own modules at either the members home or the club space. There will be a monthly operations night and club nights when members will meet to work on the layout will be on Tuesdays AND Thursdays and might even include some weekends, to make it more flexible for members' schedules. If you are in the Philadelphia area, they are looking for new members of all skill levels who are interested in creating a modular HO scale layout for public shows and personal operations using both club-owned and member-owned modules.

As for the Oaks site, it will be maintained for the time being, with its future to be decided at a later date.

A video of the dismantling of our old layout, compressing 17+ hours into a minute 15 seconds, can be found in the Layout Movie Archive.

Trains.com had an article "Dreams of railroading empire turn to dust" on their website about the birth and death of the Oaks Model Railroad layout.

The videos of the Conrail SAA Retirement Special and the Northern Express featuring the restored PRR E8's is available from a link on the Movie Archive page.
