Wellington, Grey and Bruce

September 13, 1870


Incorporated 1864 to build from Guelph to Southampton crossing the Grand River between Elora and Fergus, with a branch to Owen Sound. Ontario charter 1870 authorizes branch to Kincardine and Great Western to lease. Further Canada legislation covered more GWR power. 1893 approved amalgamtion of WG&B with Grand Trunk Railway of Canada.
