Rogers Pass First Location


First Rogers Pass location 1886-1899. This photograph was taken in the summer of 1898. On Monday, January 30th, 1899 just after 3.00 p.m. and enormous avalanche broke loose and swept down upon the station and facilities killing the day operator, his wife and two children, the night operator and three other employees; four others survived. 15 Shed in background and Mount Cheops. Everything was relocated farther west. Parks Canada 615-0286
