Simple mallet designed for high speed operation (50 mph) compared to compound 30 mph locomotive previously built.
Unique design with all four cylinders grouped together to reduce distance steam travels to reach cylinders.
Air power reverse gear instead of steam on first locomotive account tendency for steam to freeze in winter.
Wagon top radial stay boiler 200 lbs. Superheated. 58" drivers. 57,500 t.e. 262,000 lbs. weight on drivers.
Tender 12 tons coal, 5,900 gallons water.
