Coal Chutes

Wells & Gray in Toronto was awarded the contract to build this 300 ton concrete structure.
They also built similar structures in Cartier and Chapleau.
Work began in early August 1944.

P2g 5405 first of the new semi-streamlined 2-8-2's at the new coal chutes taking sand (above) MLW 69275 7/1940,
and P2g 5408 at old chutes below. 5405 was later transferred to London. New coal chutes completed August 1945.

Twelve pocket wooden coal chutes built 1905.
