New G3 class 4-6-2 Pacific type built by Montreal Locomotive Works in June 1948, making its first run on passenger. Seen here one mile east of Oakville westbound on #731. The background scene was changed in 1953 when Ford built its automobile plant here. The photographer had worked on this engine in John Street roundhouse on the night shift, then on his way home took this photograph. Newton Rossiter.
