The 3100's were transferred to Western Lines in 1955 and assigned to freight service after being converted to oil firing using tenders off scrapped T1 class 2-10-4's. They finished their service there. Both have been preserved.

It's all over. Not just for 3100 but, for all CPR steam locomotives. Winnipeg August 1960.
