Bowmanville, Ontario

The Canadian Statesman August 18, 1938
Full page newspaper story of R M Hollingshead jubilee

Known locally as the "Whiz factory" the former Hollingshead building at 182 Wellington Street is used by a number of retail businesses plus the Cornerstone Community Church (Presbyterian). Bowmanville Fabrics, King's Court Gourmet Catering,
Manantler Craft Brewing, The Chocolate Messenger (factory), T.J.'s Dance Troop, and in the newer lower building
in background is Ward's Auto Services. No rail service for any of these nor the building just visible at far right.
January 2017 Doug Hately

Note: The building at right is the age-old (1901) The Bowmanville Foundry Co. still in operation!
Thoroughly modernized with an ISO rating it is one of a very few malleable iron foundries.
