A note from the Webmaster Jon Pindar:
These pages are the
efforts of many individuals, if it was not for them, there would not be much of a website
here.
Wayne Regaudie who is the author of Mile 77:
Railroading around Sudbury Ontario, who is an excellent friend, was the mainstay of
the photographs that appear on this site, his initial photographs were the base for this
page.
The page started covering RaiLink-Ottawa Valley, but later was expanded to cover
RaiLink-Southern Ontario, thanks to the likes of Brian Thompson, who maintains an
excellent site Railfanning Brantford and
Beyond. On the Southern Ontario section, credit goes to Brian Switzer, who maintains an incredible site of
his personal photographs.
Later on, the support for the page took a surprising twist, when I received an email from Dave Lefebvre, containing two photographs, which he took while at work for RaiLink-Ottawa Valley. Countless times since then, Dave has sent many photographs, and even staged some, for inclusion on this page. His work, included many of the photographs on the Temiscaming subdivision, where the line is mainly inaccessible by road, and some of his excellent work continues to remain some of the most creative on the site.
Drew Toner, was one of the last contributors to the site, but contributed the most of all. The RaiLink-Central Western section, is in place, because of his photographs. He worked for Central Western Railway (now RaiLink-Central Western) and transferred to Ottawa Valley, when the line started in 1996.
Alex Collins, is always on the ball, constantly keeping me updated on ROV's happenings, and plans to add more in the future. The Lakeland and Waterways, and Mackenzie Northern roster information was compiled by him.
Many people give me all the credit for this page, admittedly it is a lot of work at times. Honestly, I am the guy who puts all the pieces of the puzzle together, which is enjoyable. The guestbook I added when the page was first created, shows the reach of where this page has gone. With entries in the book, from Australia, Italy, and every corner of North America, the page has really got around.
A personal note:
A special dedication goes to Bill Bell who worked for Canadian National Railways, who
passed away last year. I had a wonderful time getting to know him, sharing his
experiences, and allowing me to share mine. You were a wonderful friend, and I never
envisioned ever having a step-grandfather like you. I just wish we had more time
together, I really do. I miss those dinner table conversations where no one else
could get a word in otherwise, cause were were talking our thing. You are with me wherever
I go, whatever I do, not many people have touched me the way you do.
