Some Thanks
I would like to take this opportunity to thank several people who have guided, supported and inspired me over the years. First, my late grandfather who introduced me to trains so many years ago on the Arlington Street Bridge in Winnipeg. A special thanks to mom and dad for all those fun and educational trips through West Virginia, Virginia, the Carolina's, Georgia and Tennessee. I just wish I had taken more photos back then.
I also want to thank some fellow model-railroaders. These are people who have influenced me greatly with their knowledge and patience. All are from my former club. I enjoyed the many years we worked together on club projects and participating in shows. Brian Grannary, whose carpentry and electrical skills are second to none. Brian and I built a West-Virginia town module that remains part of the Montreal N-Trak layout. Brian has taken to coal modelling lately, rumour has it that his WM collection is getting bigger. Frank Smith, whose knowledge of trains big and small is enormous. Frank is a 'Pennsy' fan but he also likes the L&N and NYNH&H. Terry Radford who like myself prefers the N&W, he and wife Brenda model some beautiful British equipment too. George Henderson for his beautiful modules, inspirational scenery and love of ..KING COAL!!!
I must thank all the other railfans and modellers that I have met via the web. I get at least one to two new e-mails a week from folks who also love Appalachian Railroading NS style! Some have been very helpful with photos, information and even timetables. Thanks; Jim, Dave, Andrew, Todd, Jonathan, Jeffrey and any others I may have left out. All you friendly folks make this hobby so much fun.
I must also thank my partner in life, Kathleen, who has stood by during the ups and downs, been very supportive and understanding of my passion for trains and is a source of encouragement when I need it most. She is an accomplished artist and her work inspires me to do better. Kathleen also pushed me towards computers and for that I am ever grateful!
Thanks to all of you.
I would like to thank the folks at Trainweb.com for offering me the space for this site. In particular, Steve who was so very helpful with this project and the Montreal N-Trak site.
