Two South Hills commuters were taken to St. Clair Hospital in Mt. Lebanon Wednesday morning after a Port Authority light rail vehicle collided with a passenger car in Castle Shannon.
According to Judi McNeil, Port Authority of Allegheny Couty spokeswoman, the light rail passengers suffered minor injuries and were treated and released from the emergency room.
The accident occured at 9:25 a.m. when an inbound light rail vehicle -- the 42L Library -- hit the drivers side of a car sttempting to cross the tracks at Rockwood Avenue.
The accident caused only minor delays, McNeil said.
