Conrail Inherited 74 RS-3s from virtually every railroad that went into Conrail.  Heritage of these units included: PC(NYC) - 16, PC(PRR) - 4, PC(NH) - 6, CNJ - 18,
RDG - 5, LV -1, EL - 23,  these engines were numbered 5229-5554.
