2000: A New Pond
No substantial track changes were made this year as the major project was to replace the lining in the pond which had become brittle and was starting to leak.  We dug the pond deeper when we replaced the liner with a rubber one which should last much longer than the original vinyl one.  We did manage to replace a couple of curves with wider radius track so that except for one spot all mainline radii are 8 foot diameter or better.

2001: Major Motive Power Upgrades
& Logging Camp Construction

This year has seen a few changes to the track plan the most notable being the addition of a two track spur for log loading at Hickory Lick and the replacement of a couple of short radius turnouts with wider radius ones.  The major improvement to the layout however came in the form of two new engines.  A Bachmann shay and a Bachmann 10th anniversary ten-wheeler.  Both these engines were upgraded with sierra sound cards and converted to battery power radio control using the new Aristocraft mini onboard receiver and transmitter.

A few shots of the new siding for lumber loading at camp one.  The shay spotted the bashed Barnhart log loader on one track and then backed the skeleton log cars into position to be loaded

Shay No. 7 is lettered for Mower Lumber Co. and is a modified Eli-Thomas style Bachmann shay.

4-6-0 No. 103 is lettered for Western Maryland and was detailed to represent a class G-7 ten wheeler.  The engine was modified from a Bachmann 10th anniversary 10 wheeler.
