In the yards behind the old CNJ shop which serviced the NJT fleet was the "Bone Yard" where the E's that didn't "Make it" were canibalized for parts or scrapped.
 

Some unlikely residents of the bone yard were three former Southern Railway E's.  It was hard to belive that the engines that were once the pride of the line and pulled trains like the Cresent Limited would end up wasting away in a New Jersey bone yard.  Here NJT4333 (former SR 6903) awaits her fate (4-12-83)

	Former Southern 6908 never received a NJT renumbering.  Once the pride of the Cresent she still looked classy in her tattered Southern paint.  (4-12-83)

NJT 4331 former Southern E-8A (4-12-83)

As the majority of NJT's E fleet came from CR (PC) a more expected relic was 4270 ex PC (PRR).  The old PRR tuscan was starting to show thru the black PC paint. (4-12-83)

NJT 4321 was a former PC (NYC) E unit which was wasting away at E-port (4-12-83)

NJT 4322 was a former PC (NYC) E unit which was also wasting away at E-port (4-12-83)
